As a recognized authority on the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle, Dr. Frank Sabatino has cared for and inspired thousands of people for over 40 years. Dr. Sabatino has a PhD in cell biology and neuroendocrinology and has done extensive landmark research on calorie restriction, stress, and aging. He currently is on staff at the TrueNorth Health Foundation in Santa Rosa, CA, and serves as the Director of Health Education at the NHA.

As we were walking and learning together yesterday during our Wisdom Walk, I managed to take a few notes and I would like to share a few of the ideas which impacted me in some way. I am paraphrasing what I heard during the interview - filtered by my own mitote of ideas and thoughts.





I took plenty of notes and learned so much from John Pierre and Dr Sabatino about their own practices and how to overcome obstacles from living this lifestyle.




As always, it just pure pleasure to listen to John Pierre share both his personal story and his amazing knowledge - not to mention all the amazing outreach and environmental work he does! Here is just a bit of what I was able to take notes on whilst moving!


  • PLANET BASED LIVING - The next step for us all who truly respect life

  • People need to ACT on what they KNOW - turning knowledge into wisdom

  • "The word WE has to be in all expressions of life, not me, me, me"

  • Living a Hygienic Lifestyle means to incorporate ALL the facets of your life

  • Veganism is a mind-set; it is about respect for all life, not just food

  • Respecting all life includes the life of our planet - caring for our environment

  • He began his work in retirement homes with programs that went beyond nutrition, including physical movement, meditation and breathwork

  • Ahisma is a Sanskrit word which means having compassion and reverence for all living things - people, animals, plants, bugs ... the whole planet which is our home

  • "You are not truly practicing YOGA if you harm animals"

  • Yoga, without respecting all life forms, is simply stretching

  • Take care of the planet as if you were a guest in a friend's house - clean up after yourself and be respectful of your surroundings

  • We must broaden our focus on not just our own food, but our entire planet - the health and wellness of all living beings depends on our respect for life - all life

  • Start with your word; be aware of what you say and what allow yourself to hear - love, respect and compassion begin with our word

  • Do the best that you can each day
