Time to build those bones with a workout courtesy of Angela Fischetti - Elevated Heel Fitball Squat

This week we are sharing Angela's Video for the Elevated Heel Fitball Squat - "Today's edition of Have It Your Way Workouts focuses on what I think is a crucial exercise to learn for the demographic of this channel, the Elevated Heel Fitball Squat. We must have strength in order to balance. By using a number of exercise accessories we exercise the brain thus receive the benefits from a cognitive perspective. We have to think about what we are doing.

The calf muscles are often forgotten when it comes to balance but not with this exercise. Today we will benefit the quads, glutes, abs, lower back, hip adductors and all of the plantar flexors, those calves, specifically the soleus, gastrocnemius and plantaris.." - Angela

Accessories

For those with chronic concerns, read Suggested Practices At-A-Glance below. It is part of her mission to make sure those of us with chronic concerns are not forgotten and not dismissed because of these concerns. We can figure out a safe approach to encourage you to return to exercise or begin your new journey, with an open mind and a different attitude, not cultivated in negativity.

SAFETY FIRST! SUGGESTED PRACTICES AT-A-GLANCE

1 - Before exercising to any video, please show the video to the medical healthcare practitioner who best knows your medications and your body to help you make an informed decision about exercising and what equipment to use during exercise.

2 - Make sure your workout space is well lit, free of clutter and of comfortable temperature.

3 - Make sure your workout equipment is safe, i.e. use chairs without wheels and exercise on a hard, flat surface -- no throw rugs.

4 - Do not eat full meals 2-3 hours prior to exercise.

5 - Stay hydrated during workout unless you have kidney or bladder issues.

6 - Always wear closed-toed shoes, preferably sneakers or aqua shoes.

7 - Always follow suggested modifications.

8 - Exercise equipment is suggested but not required in order to safely execute each workout.
